Introduction to Common Plastics and Shrinkage Rate

ABS material: with a specific gravity of 1.05 and a water pumping rate of 5 ‰, it is the most suitable material for connecting the dimensional accuracy of the product. Generally, it is used for products with high accuracy requirements, such as ABS+PC, which is a commonly used material for mobile phone shells

POM material: 20-25% water extraction rate, high wear resistance and strength, such as common materials for plastic gears

PS material: With a water pumping rate of 5 ‰, it can be used as a transparent material, but it is relatively fragile, but the price is self-made

PP material: Specific gravity 0.91 can float on the water, with a water pumping rate of 16-20 ‰. It is commonly used on shells with low dimensional requirements (it is resistant to falling!)

HIPS material: Specific gravity: 1.05, water pumping rate: 5 ‰, commonly used to replace ABS, but not as strong as ABS

MBS material: (transparent ABS) All parameters are the same as ABS, but it is slightly more brittle than ABS

PC material: With a water pumping rate of 5-7 ‰, it has high strength and is also a high-temperature resistant material, making it one of the most expensive plastics

PPS material: It is one of the high temperature resistant materials

PVC material: With a water extraction rate of 10-25 ‰, it can also be used as transparent material, easy to age, and at a self-made price. Due to the increasingly strict requirements for safety regulations, now pmma generally uses non-toxic PVC as a product

PMMA material: Also known as organic glass, it has high transparency and good light conductivity, but is extremely easy to scratch

PA material: water pumping rate 8-14 ‰, good wear resistance, high toughness

PE material: water pumping rate 20-25, commonly used for blow molding, but also for making soft gears (silencing gears)
